Kanye West and the Bible

Kanye West, the foul-mouthed rapper who claims Jesus walks with him in “Jesus Walks”,* has been quoted as saying the Bible should be revised to include him in the narratives. West says that in the history recorded in the Bible he would be a griot, a West African storyteller.

His reasoning for believing he belongs in God’s word includes his being a motivational speaker, his ability to make history interesting to young people, and the fact that he has “changed the sound of music more than one time.”

In other news stories I came across while looking for parallels to this one, Kanye has confessed to being a very foul-mouthed porn-addict who shows little to no signs of the regeneration of the Holy Spirit. And in his claim to biblicity, he runs the risk that “God will add upon him the plagues having been written in this Book” (Revelation 22:18, LITV).

Truly, that is not a blessed state to be in. Please pray for Kanye West, that if he truly desires the Lord to walk beside him, that he would live a life which reflects Christ. God is holy, and thus cannot associate Himself with sin.

Will two walk together except they are agreed? Amos 3:3 LITV

* Warning: These lyrics may offend those who love the Lord and His Word. They are linked to only to note West’s claims.
