Late yesterday, guest commenter LMT dropped a defense of polygyny that I hadn’t come across before: Progeny of a forbidden union were prohibited from entering into the assembly of the Lord. Given that the tribes of Israel came from Jacob and multiple wives, it can therefore be concluded that polygyny does not constitute “forbidden” unions. Responses? Be sure to read the original thread of comments for a furtherance of the discussion; no proof stands alone, after all!
I am curious. What does constitute a forbidden union?
Well, there’s adultery for one thing. Fornication for another. Incest for a third.
