TMNT

I saw TMNT yesterday. My original rating of the movie was 8/10, but I had to revise it after watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the 1990 film) and the rating became 8.5.

Have you seen it? What’d you think?

  1. Hahaha! TMNT? I haven’t seen that cartoon in years! The new ones aren’t as good as the original.

Sorry, Rick, but I haven’t seen the film. It looked pretty interesting, though. I wonder what’s up with all these cartoons coming to life, though. Not that I’m complaining because they are a lot better than the junk on TV now.

BTW, I got the “Works of John Owen” today! Well, I purchased it today, I’ll be getting it in about a week or two. :)

  2. “cartoons coming to life” … Huh?

The animation — especially the environments — trumps anything I’ve seen done by Dreamworks or Pixar so far, but admittedly the story isn’t as good as such as Toy Story or Finding Nemo. However, it is a faithful update to a great superhero storyline, which I think even non-fans would even enjoy.

  3. Hahaha! Sorry, what I meant was, cartoons becoming digitally animated: Scooby Doo, Spider Man, X-Men, and others that I cannot think off the top of my head.

What company produced TMNT, if not Dreamworks or Pixar?

  4. It was a Hong Kong-based animation studio known as Imagi. Apparently, TMNT was their first film, or at least it was their first notable enough film to be included on their Wikipedia entry.

  5. My only guess is that it turned into the movie Evolution starring David Duchovny. There are many similarities between that movie and the original Ghostbusters movie which can be noted, and it even features Dan Ackroyd!
