Regaining Focus

As much as I try to convince myself that I want to centralize my content here at KingdomGeek, the task has proven quite the challenge. Facebook & Twitter have spoiled me with the ease at which I can post whatever’s on my mind. And the more niché sites such as Youtube & Flickr provide all the tools needed to make hosting media anywhere else seem silly.

I’m not alone, though. Maybe micro-blogging (i.e., brief content/media updates via social media) doesn’t matter. Perhaps it’s all one big sycophantic echo chamber. (Although, I can’t help but wonder how different the blogosphere at large is.)

Perhaps the hooks they have in me are illusory, and I should be biting the bullet, posting my content on my Web space.

Might as well. It can’t hurt. And besides, this place hasn’t been lively enough lately.

  1. Rick, not all is as it appears to be. While it is true that there aren’t a lot of people commenting on your posts, that doesn’t mean your blog isn’t lively. You do realize that you are getting more than 5000 hits a day, right? That is very good!

  2. I meant it hasn’t been lively enough for my part. All my best thoughts end up as Facebook statuses, eventually buried on a profile that I ultimately have little control over maintaining into the future.

And according to my own stats, I’m only getting around 150 unique visitors a day. Five thousand seems a tad inflated!

  3. You can always compile a list of your best thoughts on one page for your readers to access. When you get a chance, go to my site and click on Christian Quotes in the sidebar to see what I mean.

By the way, I got the figure from statbrain.com
