Illumination Meets Us Here

I mentioned a while back that Glen and I were to co-author a book.

That plan still exists. But shortly after writing my blog entry about the plan, the idea started to expand. Eventually, it expanded to involve a good friend of both Glen and myself, Shawn McGrath.

Glen, Shawn, and I will be collaborating on a project which is quite likely larger than the three of us. I’ll not link to this project yet nor will I share many of the details yet–we hope to have a satisfiable (for us) amount of content before going public.

We’re using the open-source content manager Joomla to build the site with, though I am very unfamiliar with it. It definitely does not have the pure simplicity which WordPress has. If anyone knows of any great Joomla tutorials that goes beyond simply creating sections, categories, and content, that would be great. I would love to know more about the nuances of the menu system or why I have noticed at least three different methods of linking to the main page, which cannot be good for SEO!

With our project, we’re dreaming big. Perhaps too big. And it’s going to take an obscene amount of writing to get this site to where we want it to be.

As for what the site will offer… Think about CARM without the Calvinism or Way of Life without the man-made Baptist traditions.

And yes, we realize that men like Matt Slick and David Cloud have put years into their writings and sites. We’re not expecting to be anywhere near them within the foreseeable future. But we can dream about after that, right? :)
