Well it isn’t every day that I hear a piece of news from the entertainment industry that makes me truly geek out. Actually, this piece of news is one that I never thought I’d receive. A third Ghostbusters movie? Really?
Shortly after I first heard rumors of such a thing, the rumors were dashed when I heard that Ghostbusters: The Video Game would essentially be the third movie. After all, it had all the primary actors, quality script writing, and all the fixings of a Hollywood blockbuster.
I became content, accepting that the world’s most popular paranormal investigators would no longer grace the big screen.
And then I found out that Ghostbusters is hiring, and a proper sequel to my favorite childhood movie franchise is in the works, with filming to perhaps begin later this year.
Funny that you write this. My colleague Dusty Cartwright wrote a post a few weeks ago entitled “Honey I Suck: The Rick Moranis Story” at fourcamelsatsea.com about this very problem. It seems that Mr. Moranis has become too cool for the Ghostbusters.
