Disney-Pixar’s “Cars” Diecast Toys Check-list

All Cars Checklist discussion & current information is now being posted over at RickBeckman.org. Be sure to check it out for the latest information!

Update: There are now three versions of the checklist available; you can grab any of them — including the newest (3rd) one — on the extras page.

I know and have met several people whose children absolutely love the die-cast cars from Cars. New ones are released, mothers get excited, and I keep an eagle’s eye out for just the right one’s customers are waiting for and have asked me to save for them when we get them in at my store. Specifically for some of my friends who collect them for their children, I have put together a handy-dandy checklist listing all of the cars thus far (and soon to be released) according to Cars Diecast Line.

Feel free to download it, distribute it, use it to assemble the ultimate Cars toys collection! (Or lament the fact that there are even more than you had hoped as you’re starting to feel the financial strain Disney-Pixar and Mattel have upon you! :)

  1. Just note that the list isn’t entirely accurate. A more accurate list is available on the Wikipedia; I was too quick to include unsubstantiated rumor in my list because, at one point, that’s what the Wikipedia article listed as well. Just note that the majority of “Wave 4” cars aren’t released and may not be released, as listed in my checklist.

  2. I was so happy to come across your site. I have a two year old at home who loves the movie and all of the cars we have gotten him. This is so handy now I know what to watch for since he has all the one that are out so far.

  3. Awesome list! My three year old and I are constantly hunting out new CARS and I’ve been looking for a list like this. You’ve been so helpful!!

  4. Thank you so much for putting this list up! I have 2 boys and they’re both in love with these toys. I have to admit I’m a but enamored as well honestly. This makes it so much easier to know what I’m looking for.
    Thanks again!

  5. Thanks for the checklist. I just purchased Snot Rod as a single from Target. He’s not on your checklist yet. He was packaged with the the Wave 4 backing.

  6. Check out the “Basic” checklist on my extras page; Snot Rod has been listed in it for quite a while.

The check list that I put together which divides everything up by Wave, Single/Double, etc., is outdated and no longer maintained. Actually, the Basic list needs updated as well.

Frankly, until Mattel releases an official list, putting together a thorough and accurate list will be difficult…

I am, however, pleased that new packaging has been spotted; that’s a good sign for the 200+ being shipped to our store in the near future. w00t!

  7. Hey, thanks for the Cars list….just what I’ve been looking for online! Thanks for putting in the time and then putting it up here for all to enjoy!

  8. a couple things missing from your checklist:

    Red Rimmed Fabulous Hudson Hornet
    Cruisin Ramone (Red & White)
    Bessie
    Dale Earnhart Jr

  9. Without seeing real photographs of them (i.e., at a reputable retailer, not eBay) or seeing them in person, I’m not adding anything to the checklist. There are far too many rumors going around where people say they have seen characters that really aren’t toys yet — or even people making their own toys and passing them off on eBay as real Mattel products.

  10. that’s cool.

I purchased 3 “R” cases and each case contained the Red Rimmed FHH and the Cruisin Ramone. If I get a chance, I’ll take a scan and email em to you.

  11. I’ve got 2 “Q” cases and 3 “S” cases that should be in by Tuesday. Can’t wait.

I dont have the greatest camera, but I was able to get pics. Should be in your email shortly.

  12. I’m on my lunch break right now and just got your email. When I get back to work, I’ll be telling a couple co-workers about your finds.

So, thanks for making the day of two women I work with. They’ll be thrilled!

  13. Hi Rick,

    Good effort and most appreciated.

One small point though, there are 2 realeases here in the UK, one I will call Desert Backs & the other Supercharged.

Could the list be split up to show both and all the releases within?

Including Movie Moments, as some of the Supercharged MM’s were not released on the Desert Backs.

    Thanks

    Mark C

  14. Mark,

Grab Checklist #1 from the Extras page. I’ve since decided not to take the time to be that specific in the list — just listing all available Cars, not even separating double packs from singles. It was just too much to keep up on.

The “desert backs” were only used for the first few Cars; they were quickly changed to the SuperCharged packaging, at least here in the United States.

  15. Hi there,

Even though you don’t update your list, it is still a great list to start with. I personnaly thought that I had a lot of those die-cast… only to see I miss about half of it… lol

Today, I was in a Toys ‘R’ Us and there was a box full of cars and was amazed to see many I didn’t have. So I came back and found your list.

I’m getting so maniac about all this that I’m going to try and get both Desert Backs and Supercharged versions for the same car.

Some small notes that might be of use to anyone:
    – I live in Canada and bought my first 3 cars in Orlando (McQueen H6406, Mater H6408 & Ramone (Green) J6421)

    – All others I have have been bought either at Wal-Mart or Toys ‘R’ Us here in Quebec Province.

    – Looking at Checklist #1: all Single Packs have been release in Desert Back packaging because I have all of them.

    – Unlike the checklist saying “The King” for H6413, mine is named in 3 languages on the front label: King, El Rey, Le King

    – Unlike the checklist saying “Fillmore” for H6415, mine is spelled “Filmore”.

    – The 3 cars I bought at Disney World are english only. All others I bought home are tri-lingual (English, French and Spanish)

And finally… I will go back to the Toys ‘R’ Us this week-end and get all other cars I don’t have. If there is anything worth mentionning, I’ll come back over here and post it.

    Thanks again for the list!!

  16. I just noticed this also about my Ramone (purple), in SC packaging and L6270 number:

On the back of the packaging, there is a factory applied sticker matching the design underneath and saying: “Ramone º Ramón”. I don’t know what would be under…

  17. HI i LOVE THE LIST .. IM JUST WONDERIGN IF YOU KNOW TEH ACTUAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TEH SERIES 1 AND TEH SUPERCHARGED ONES .. I HAVE BOUGHT TEH CARS SINCE DAY 1 AND THEY HAVE ONLY BEEN THE SUPERCHARGED ONES .. ALSO IS THERE EVER ANY WAY TO FIND OUT THE RELEASE DATES OF TEH NEW CARS ??? THANKS ALOT

  18. HI i LOVE THE LIST .. IM JUST WONDERIGN IF YOU KNOW THE ACTUAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SERIES 1 AND THE SUPERCHARGED ONES .. I HAVE BOUGHT TEH CARS SINCE DAY 1 AND THEY HAVE ONLY BEEN THE SUPERCHARGED ONES .. ALSO IS THERE EVER ANY WAY TO FIND OUT THE RELEASE DATES OF TEH NEW CARS ??? THANKS ALOT

  19. To Stephanie: About 90% sure about this, the only difference is in the packaging. Here is a link to a pic I took from my own colelction. Sorry I don’t have both packaging with same cars in it, but you surely get the idea. The bakc-packaging is also different.

  20. I’d like to add this:

    – I have personnaly seen two different versions of Fillmore on desert back packaging. One spelled “Filmore”, the other spelled “Fillmore” (1L or 2L)

  21. Same car, just different spelling. I’ve seen Yeti referred to on card backs as both “Yeti” and “Yeti the Abominable Snowplow” (or something like that).

When I started with the checklist, I thought I’d include such variants. But, now I don’t care enough to. It’s the same car, after all.

  22. Well… maybe you don’t care, but maybe some others would be happy to know this so I posted it. You are mentionning there is two packaging versions… so why not mention the spelling differences if they do exist? Maybe it’s too much job for you, and I understand that… I’m just trying to fill up the gap and make your list the best one on the net so that it may help others like it helped me… you surely don’t have a problem with that… do you?

If you don’t care about the spelling difference, fine. Others might. Please don’t undermine my contributions..

  23. I’m not undermining it at all, just stating why my latest checklist (#3) — the only one that still receives my attention — is just a bare-bones checklist. In the original checklist (#1), I sought to be as thorough as possible. I don’t even remember what #2 is like. lol.

  24. Rick,

I wish to thank you for your time and effort in getting this list together. It is an excellent starting point for the collector.
I would also like to agree with Smumdax, there are a lot of variants out there that could be included if you are a nutty collector like myself. However to include them on your list would require a lot of research and time, something that maybe some off us just don’t have!

You are both correct and your interest in this subject should be commended…

  25. You want to buy the checklists? Weird… lol

  28. Unfortunately here in the UK the new waves are yet to land.

That means a lot of people from the states and Canada are making vast sums of cash by advertising on the UK Ebay site and we end up paying small fortunes because Mattel don’t roll out their releases on the same day worldwide.

I wish Mattel would stop this practice, why should the states get them first and we here in rip of britian have to pay a huge premium….

If you are a UK buyer, just wait, they will come, don’t pay the artificial prices imposed on us from over the Pond.

When your child sees these on Ebay its very hard to say, no son, you will have to wait, daddy can’t afford that price, makes me feel a terrible father..

Why oh why do people force up prices that kids can ill afford here….

    Mark

  29. Why oh why do you put your kids in front of eBay?
I think you are wrong in putting everybody from “over the pond” guilty for the prices on eBay… I mean, I’m in Quebec, and just by reading your comment, I should feel responsible for that? Gimme a break…

The truth is that Mattel make these toys (imported from China I know), and they come to Canada first. Then, it’s all a matter of shipping schedules. I think it’s only logical that the surrounding areas of Mattel be served first. And considering the number of stores to ship to, I also think it’s pretty normal that it takes more than a month to get to the UK… If you don’t run an international business, I don’t expect you to understand this, but I don’t have one and it’s kind of easy to see how it goes…

If you pay big amounts to have your toys the day they get released, well it’s your fault, don’t blame the world for it. You want it now, you pay. You wait, you pay less. Nobody forces you to buy anything.

Even if I don’t agree with your hidden hate of America in general, I do agree with you saying that the shipping charges on eBay are sometimes to high, whatever country your are in.

For a die-cast car that you could find at 4$ at Wal-Mat of Toys ‘R’ Us… it’s pretty dumb to have to pay say 7$-9$ + shipping of 5.95$, 15US$ total…

  30. Sorry?,

I have not “hidden” hatred of Americans at all, in no way shape or form, and I am more than a little upset by the inference…!! I work daily with people from America, play online with them, laugh and joke with them, the people I know are genuinely nice people.

Strange that one comment on people exploiting other people seems to imply a general downer on the entire culture?

As for placing kids in front of ebay, this is the year 2007, not 1807, kids know way more than most adults and are resourceful too.

As for running an international company, luckily I don’t have that burden, especially one that allows me to make a profit out of inflated prices that kids end up paying if they want the latest “in thing”

Whilst I do not want this to turn into a flame war, please do not assume you know what I am thinking or what I believe in, because you don’t…

    Thank you,

    Mark

  31. BTW, I have now unsubscribed from this thread so will no longer receive notifications when you post….

  32. Rick, checklist #4 is great!
    However, something might be wrong.
I have in my hands right now both DB and SC packagings of Lightning McQueen, and both are H6406.

  33. Smumdax, glad you like it! And wow, what an eye for detail you have!

I used this collectors’ reference to put the checklist together.

I wonder if the variation in stock # could be attributed to the fact you’re in Canada and I’m in America. Or maybe the reference was wrong.

I’ll see if I can sort the issue and have it fixed in the next update.

Are there any newer cars I may have missed?

I know there are things like Bessie & Blue Bowlin’ Mater, but they come only with playsets; I wanted the checklist to focus only on the individual and Movie Moments packs.

  34. Well, actually I was puting a list together based on your lists, and some research on the web, trying to add those numbers. I thought it was pretty logical to have them in the list. I was thinking about sending it back to you… However, if those numbers depend on the country your in, then we got a problem… lol.

    What I’ve got I’ll send.

I must specify that my DB Lightning McQueen was bought at Walt Disney Florida, and my SC version of the same car was bought here in Quebec. Both have same number…

Makes all this pretty weird doesn’t it? I think that we should concentrate on the numbers we can actually verify, having them in hand. So I will go through my lot and send you the info when all is done on my side.

rick i don’t see these on your list and they are both out. you can’t find them at wal mart but you can get them on ebay.

    email all info to musicnywu1@hotmail.com

what is this new mater and whats up with this no fin mcqueen. i put that in on ebay and i saw a pic of it and its one that i have. the springs mcqueen. its not new.

  36. I have a simple question… we talk about the Assortment (sp?) number, and also that other number unique to the toy itself.

But what is an assortment number, and what is the other number called?

And what’s the possible reasons why these number can differ on 2 same toys?

Also, why/what the letters on the shipping boxes?

  37. To Danny: Well… it doesn’t answer much of my many questions. However it does bring out 2 other questions for you… Aren’t the UPC barcodes for a same Assortment number all the same? I believe so, I used to work 4 years at Wal-Mart also ;) So for you to have “all” of them, it ain’t impressing me much… lol

Second question: why are you pushing your email address this much?

  38. Danny Floravit

to smumdax: sorry i have most of the upc codes. the first five numbers are all the same on the cars 20487, then the next five are different. i put my email so u can use it if you want. i’m not pushing it at all. i got all the upc bar codes from someone on ebay. this person nos a lot about cars if u want his info!!

  39. Well… on my packagings, there is no difference in UPC bar codes for the single packs. There is however a different UPC for the Movie Moments. Normal, not the same Assortment…

A UPC is good for an unique Assortment number, not for a specific toy. Things like Star Wars figures, Matchbox cars, mini-Transformers.. in the same assortment you have the same UPC for any different toys.

And the reason is quite simple: how many Matchbox die-cast cars there are in the 2007 collection? How many darn Star Wars figures?… that many would be the number of new items to create in the store’s database… Changing prices would be hell, doing inventory would be hell, making new planos would be hell… trust me, Wal-Mart is enough hell as it is.. lol

Only bad about this is that even if you know that in one particular store, there are 50 items with the bar code of the toys you are searching for, you just don’t know wich one it is. You just know that there are 50 of the same assortment.

Quite frankly, thinking about it, what’s the use of having all/most/any of the UPC bar codes from the Cars die-cast series?

  40. Danny Floravit

when u go to the wal marts u can give them to a asm and then she can sell if they are in the back or order what you give her. if give her one upc and it will come in a box of 18. that upc will be in that box that she order.

  41. Danny Floravit

all the singles are different. just the 1st five of the upc is the same. look in the bottom of two of them. since i no that a lot of people don’t open the cars.

  42. … well… I can give you my address and you can come and take a look at all 25 that I’ve got. They all have the same UPC barcode… The only reason why I could have a completely different UPC barcode would be if the toy is from a different Assortment. But that is not the case. All my singles pack are from the same assortment… meaning exactly the same UPC barcode.

I’m not saying you a liar, it’s just that maybe you have different assortment, so different UPCs.

And I must correct you: I worked at Wal-Mart for 4 years. You cannot order the exact toy you want if it’s from an assortment. You can order a box, and maybe, just maybe hope it’ll be in it.

  43. Danny Floravit

the last five of the upc bar code are different:

    lizzie: 27084-50402
    wingo: 27084-50405
    guido and luigi: 27084-49313
    yellow ramone: 27084-47640

get what i’m saying, well i no u worked at wal mart but the asm said the ones i gave her (bar codes) she will order and they will come. there is a letter on the boxe and this car comes in this box and this car comes in that box.

  44. Smumdax:

Makes all this pretty weird doesn’t it? I think that we should concentrate on the numbers we can actually verify, having them in hand. So I will go through my lot and send you the info when all is done on my side.

Appreciated but not really necessary, unless you really want me to have the best list out there. :)

rick i don’t see these on your list and they are both out. you can’t find them at wal mart but you can get them on ebay.

eBay is not a reliable source for anything retail. Unless it shows up and is verified to me either by photograph or by mention in a reliable thread at carsthetoys.com, I’m not adding to my list.

    Smumdax:

I have a simple question… we talk about the Assortment (sp?) number, and also that other number unique to the toy itself.

But what is an assortment number, and what is the other number called?

And what’s the possible reasons why these number can differ on 2 same toys?

Also, why/what the letters on the shipping boxes?

Both the assortment numbers & the individual numbers are used by manufacturers — in our case, Mattel — to track their own products. For instance, one line of toys — say for instance, Barbie doll gowns — may all be collectively maintained by one assortment number (i.e., this is the number that all the product would be counted under for purposes of inventory, for shipping to retailers, etc.), while individual items within that assortment would of course still be numbered for categorization and so on.

I believe the individual item’s number is a SKU, or stock keeping unit. I’m not sure of that, though.

The numbers & letters on the cases are just another way to track inventory, the numbers most likely being a broad type number while the letter tracks which particular assortment of that type is added to the box. What comes to mind is that this easily allows them to make sure no old stock is left hanging around while they’re shipping out newer stuff.

    Smumdax still:

Aren’t the UPC barcodes for a same Assortment number all the same? I believe so, I used to work 4 years at Wal-Mart also ;) So for you to have “all” of them, it ain’t impressing me much… lol

Every toy of the Cars line has a different UPC. The first five digits (of the middle 10) is Mattel’s manufacturer number; the next five identify which particular toy it is — often, but not always, this number will match the toys SKU. When at Wal-mart we order a case of Cars, we do so under a special UPC which doesn’t appear on the product itself — a prime item number. And while each individual car we get has a different UPC, if they are a part of that same assortment, they’re all inventoried under that one number.

Assortments are a confusing topic, though; probably half or more of the people I work with don’t get the concept. I learned it through trial & error.

To see some of the UPCs for some of the newer cars, check out this post. You can see the pattern that the first five digits are the same. :)

    Smumdax continued:

And the reason is quite simple: how many Matchbox die-cast cars there are in the 2007 collection? How many darn Star Wars figures?… that many would be the number of new items to create in the store’s database… Changing prices would be hell, doing inventory would be hell, making new planos would be hell… trust me, Wal-Mart is enough hell as it is.. lol

Trust me, they all have individual UPCs. Matchbox cars and Hot Wheels cars I believe very often have the same, but there is still quite a variety of UPCs. And all of the Star Wars figures have different UPCs as well.

However, inventory, price changes, etc. are all done under the prime number (ideally; it doesn’t always work that way), so it isn’t too bad.

    Danny Floravit:

when u go to the wal marts u can give them to a asm and then she can sell if they are in the back or order what you give her. if give her one upc and it will come in a box of 18. that upc will be in that box that she order.

If you give us any individual UPC, all we can tell you is whether or not we have any item in that assortment on hand. If I scanned a Lizzie UPC and it shows an on hand, all I know is that there are Cars toys somewhere in the building. It does not mean that there’s a Lizzie somewhere. All the inventory is tracked by one prime number. Likewise, if I ordered via a Hamm UPC, it would default to the prime number and the case received may or may not have Hamm in it.

    Lastly, smumdax:

… well… I can give you my address and you can come and take a look at all 25 that I’ve got. They all have the same UPC barcode… The only reason why I could have a completely different UPC barcode would be if the toy is from a different Assortment. But that is not the case. All my singles pack are from the same assortment… meaning exactly the same UPC barcode.

I’m not saying you a liar, it’s just that maybe you have different assortment, so different UPCs.

All the toys have different UPCs, unless it’s different in Canada. Check out the post I linked to earlier in the comment. :)

  45. Danny Floravit:

the last five of the upc bar code are different:

    lizzie: 27084-50402
    wingo: 27084-50405
    guido and luigi: 27084-49313
    yellow ramone: 27084-47640

get what i’m saying, well i no u worked at wal mart but the asm said the ones i gave her (bar codes) she will order and they will come. there is a letter on the boxe and this car comes in this box and this car comes in that box.

I’m not sure what an ASM is; we don’t have those at my store. Maybe you mean CSM?

Also, when orders are placed, regardless of which number within the assortment is used, they are placed via the prime item number. There’s no way to order, say, a case of Desert-back Cars using an old UPC, nor is it possible to only order cases of the latest, greatest. We order, and the warehouse ships us what it has.

If we could be that specific in what we ordered, collectors wouldwide would be making a big deal out of it. Collecting would be so easy then!

So, regardless of what the “ASM” told you, perhaps they just totally misunderstood the concept of assortments. Indeed, that very same “If I order this UPC, I’ll get that item” mentality I had too when I first became dept. mgr. of toys, but I quickly found out that I didn’t have a clue what I was talking about.

Not saying you’re not telling the truth by any means. But it’s very likely they fed you a load of worthless information. There is literally no training given regarding assortments, but there’s tons of misinformation floating around that people think is true.

  46. Well… thanks for all that info. Most of it I agree, most of it I knew (like first five digits are the company’s “id” in the UPC world).

However, still, nonetheless, even though… Maybe in Canada, it is different. I could take a picture of all my UPC codes, and you will see that they are all exactly the same. I’m not giving info from some other site, from eBay, from a friend who know a friend who knows a friend… This is my own personnal, in front of me, collection.

And remember. A McQueen, Mater and Ramone I bought in Florida have all the SAME UPC code as the other cars I have… Great coincidence? This negates the “maybe it’s different in Canada” theory… ;)

So I see we both worked at Wal-Mart, but have different explanation about the Assortment Vs UPC codes…

    I’m begging ya… ask for pictures :D

  47. Send some pics if you want. :P rick.beckman@gmail.com

I’m gonna make a point of it to check the toys we have on hand when I get back to work on Monday. I know they’re listed in our system under a variety of UPCs — as listed in that other post — but will visually verify the items themselves when I’m able.

Would you believe I’m this into the checklist and the toys yet do not own a single one of them?

(I do own the movie and a videogame based on it, however. :)

  48. Danny Floravit

i don’t no if the upc are different in ca! but in the us those are it. thats the hole upc code. i never work at a wal mart. asm stand for asst. store manager. see if you go to a wal mart in new york and then go to a wal mart in California, you just give the the upc and they can order what they can. the asm i gave the bar codes to, she order them like nothing and no problem them i will give her the next ones and so on. they come from asia so the west gets them first.

  49. Okay, asst. store managers… that makes since.

Still, assortments don’t work that way. Been there, done that, for the past 3 years as toy dept. mgr. If they are getting the ones you are requesting, it’s by sheer coincidence, else they are using a completely different ordering structure — which I doubt.

  50. Can we order these at Walmart before they stock them on the shelves? I have been frantically searching for a year for all of them for my 5 year old, and I thought I had them all until I found your list. DO I just give them the stock # on your checklist and they can order?

  51. No. The stock # from my checklist is a Mattel thing. Wal-mart has their own unique item #s. Only the UPC is a “universal” code — used by both manufacturers & retailers.

Contrary to what has been stated by Danny, Wal-mart cannot order via an individual UPC and expect to get it in a shipment. If it can be done, whoever is doing it is using retail voodoo that I’ve not been told about.

What can be done is that you can ask your local toy dept. mgr. to watch for certain items, and when they arrive, they can be held back for you. This is quite common at our store, and I’d expect Wal-marts everywhere would be okay with it. However, a goofy request like “I’d like all Yeti toys held back for me,” probably won’t be honored. ;)

  52. Smumdax: I talked to a friend at work who has bought all the ones available here for her son, and she said that back during the early waves of Cars, the UPCs were the same. They’ve only recently, apparently, started giving them all unique UPCs.

So maybe the UPC depends on which Mattel asst. # a car appeared in. I dunno.

  53. Danny Floravit

to rick beckman:do u work at a wal mart??? because i think the people in the back are taking all the new stuff and getting for themselves. there is all ways thew old stuff out at all the same wal marts.

  54. Yes, I work at Wal-mart.

And yes, occasionally associates do go through cases before they reach the floor. They can be fired for it if they get caught, but there isn’t a foolproof way of deterring it.

Also, the same old old stuff may be on the floor simply because that’s all the store receives. That’s all my store’s been receiving for months.

  55. Danny Floravit

CAN U LOOK FOR THE CARS I NEED FOR MY LIST IF I CAN PAY YOU WHAT THE ARE OR I WILL PAY .25 OR .50 MORE SO U CAN MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF IT. WHAT WAL-,MART, WHAT STATE??? CAN U HELP ME. BUY FROM EBAY IS NOT GOOD BECAUSE WHAT THEY ARE ASKING FOR A CAR.

  56. Rick: I won’t send my pics of the UPC codes now. I think we are in agreement about the UPC codes that for any Asst#, there is a single code.

    Danny: caps is shouting ;)

To all: yesterday, I went to 2 Wal-Marts, a Canadian Tire and 2 Zellers. All of them have the space for the toys, but I only found 1 lousy car in all 5 stores. There is one thing I noticed: one Wal-Mart had a hand-written note on one of the price tag that meant “Non replenishable”…

So to Rick, I was wondering if you have information on what could that mean. Think WM won’t carry these toys anymore?

Personnaly, I think that would be a stupid decision. Because I saw the rate at which they get off the shelves. One day, you get one box. The next day half of the toys are already gone. Third day, no more.

I think tomorrow I’m gonna go to my Toys Dept Manager and ask her to order me a couple of boxes. Even if I just buy a couple toys in them, I know they won’t be stuck with them very long. :)

RICK: IF I GIVE U A LIST, CAN U HELP ME GET SOME OF THE LIST FOR ME. I WILL PAY U. I NO THE WALMARTS OUT THERE, PEOPLE DO GET THE NEW ONES AND IT SUCKS. READ MY LAST REPLY.

  58. Danny: I won’t even do that for the collectors I know here in person, so no, I will not be doing it for you. It would be an abuse of my position to do something like that, and I could potentially lose my job over it.

Smumdax: Just ’cause an item is non-replenishable, it doesn’t mean they will stop carrying it. ;) It simply means the store itself cannot order the item, but it may arrive (as the character Cars did for the longest time) via home office orders.

  60. 1-800-524-8697 is Mattel’s support line. You could call and ask.

However, I can’t even find mention of the Character Cars on mattel.com, so they may not sell them direct to consumes. I could be wrong, however.

  61. Lots of checklists I’ve seen have cars mine doesn’t have.

Do you own the cars that aren’t on mine? Are you sure they exist?

Not trying to doubt you, but I’m pretty sure older versions of my checklist have included cars not present on the new one. Rumors come and go, and right now, my list #4 (except for the errant listings of Flo & Guido as single packs) is quite accurate based upon all my trusted sources.

  62. Danny Floravit

rick:well i got someone on ebay that i talk to and he is very good on his info to. i’m not saying your info is not good but everyone gets info from everyone and everyone thinks there info is the best.

  63. I guess my problem then is I don’t trust eBay as a source. There are far too many people involved at carsthetoys.com that I simply cannot distrust their information, especially when I can corroborate it with info available to me at work.

  64. Danny Floravit

rick:the site carsthetoys.com has nothing i don’t no already. i just saw that site a few weeks ago and the people on that site really talk about no new info on the cars. i only trust 1 person on ebay. that all. they all ask for so much $$$ for the cars. sometimes i just wait unitl they get to your work (wal mart.) i have not even buy the cars from ebay only if i no its a good deal. i only get info on the cars from ebay. i don’t understand the site carsthetoys.com

  65. Guys… I’m going to Walt Disney Wolrd in a couple of weeks. I’m sure am going to take as much Cars I can. Is there anything you want me to look at? Even I don’t buy all, I can take pictures of the products that might interest you, and can also take some notes about the numbers, the asst, the upc, etc.

  66. Danny Floravit

smumdax: hi, my list was a couple of reply ago and can u see if u can take any pic of of anything that is on my list or not on my list that are coming out. since u are going there i hope there is something new out when u get there. thanks!!!!

  67. My boy is into collecting all Cars character, i m having hard time finding DJ, Flo and RED in single pack.. I went to Toy R us and Target.. anyone have extra that they could sell me.. or tell me the best place to buy those hard to find

  68. Danny Floravit

to BJo: i have a extra sally and purple ramone!!! well sell them to u for the price at wall mart.

    danny

  69. Danny Floravit

TO BUJO: YOU CAN BUY THE HARD TO FIND ONES AT EBAY OR WAIT A LITTLE AND GO TO WAL MART IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SPEND THAT MUCH.

  70. I’m getting a kick out of your back and forth, give and take, on the UPC codes, etc. If you’re trying to amass every code variation, you may go broke. There was a discussion on a Hasbro Star Wars website with one of the heads of that product line. He indicated much of the numbers of the back of the cards are there to assist the actual manufacturing plants to assemble the correct backboard with the proper toy. Not everybody in China or other countries reads English. There may be minute variations in the number for product run changes to the wording on the card stock. If it applies universally to all toy lines, I do not know. The UPC has some universality to the number to enable all retailers to computerize their inventory so the scanner can ring up the right price and product. I have noticed with some frequency, when a new product comes on line the UPC codes produce a generic ID. Many of my early receipts rang up as a generic Disney Car . I know a Toys R Us store manager, who loves the subsequent more detailed print outs of the UPC code, i.e., a very specific car. That controls the returns, i.e., the toy scalper or hoarder who bought every Hamm or other hot toy only to see the price crash. No more take it back to trade in or return for cash. No receipt-no return. And with my local Toys-R-Us, no receipt and the store will NOT even give you Geoffery Dollar equivalents. The product’s UPC may change slightly, but, it will only give the retailer the upper hand in controlling returns. For you bloggers from Walmart, in Puyallup, Washington, there are guys returning old stock Hot Wheel cars for credit which are placed on the pegs. Who in 2007 is looking for 2004 Hot Wheels? Nobody! Go to Toys R Us and the manager will not take any Hot Wheel returns, because of the scalpers and hoarders. You bought it, you eat it! If you are going to collect these cars by UPC codes, have at it. You better hope Mattel doesn’t start moving the eyes around the windshields like the MacDonald’s toy promotion cars. I use eBay as an alert. If I see a picture of the toy, then I start looking. The Walmart and Target stockroom clerk usually gets first digs and puts them on eBay.

  71. Rick,
Several weeks ago you indicated that you were not going to list any car which you personally have not seen or seen on a reputable retailer site. I have never seen a single carded Flo or Guido- in person or on eBay or on the Internet. I checked numerous retailer sites, etc, and have drawn a blank. Have you or anybody seen these?

  72. Poppa: On my side, never seen it except loose. I saw it in PVC, don’t know where it comes from… and I also saw a papermodel of it… lol

Rick: What’s the story about the Easter Egg versions?

  73. Smumdax: As far as I know, the Easter Egg versions were the same cars, just different card backs. carsthetoys.com lists their Mattel #s along with the Character Cars #s. I have no idea if the Easter Egg ones are available anymore anywhere or not.

Steve: The individual Flo & Guido were mistakes on my part. Note that their stock #s are the same as the double-packs they appear in later in the checklist.

  74. If anyone is interested in the blue mater exclusive to the “Mater’s Rollin’ Bowlin’ Game”, it is currently listed on sale for $14.99 at KB Toys.com. I picked one up at a K-B store last year and the car is a regular size car and not a plastic smaller toy.

  75. Given the outstanding success of past checklist efforts, I’ve put together what I hope is something even better — or at least what is the beginnings of something even better — and I’m inviting anyone who’s been making use of my checklists to come and check it out.

Actually, I’m pretty much forcing you too, if you want to keep the discussions going. :D I really do appreciate the traffic this all brings in here, but I’d like to get it all centralized. Right now, there’s 3 posts + the extras page here. So I’m hoping to get everyone on the same page.
