The Vault

This archived content is from multiple blogs across multiple domains, all created, loved, and eventually abandoned by me. No, I’m not proud of that, but life goes on, and perspectives change. Perhaps something in the archives will be of value to someone, and so they shall remain in perpetuity. Posts which have been updated for content or style will be moved to a more appropriate category — this is the plan for all posts across the site.

Bounce Sheets and Bugs

A few weeks ago I heard the promising theory that Bounce brand fabric softener sheets do a wonderful job with repelling mosquitoes and other insect pests. Turns out it’s, well, bogus. It does, however, have some handy uses for odor control. Error happened.

Falling in Love With Boys

In my excursions across the web today, I happened upont his quote on a blog: Or, for that matter, where does it say “Thou shalt not fall in love with other boys”? Oh, that’s right, it doesn’t. So why do conservative Christian groups and parents think they have the right to force a young boy into a rehabilitation program …

President Makes Choice

Yep, that was the front page headline on today’s local paper… “President Makes Choice.” So, did he like choose eggs for breakfast? Did he pick polka dotted socks with striped pants? Did he decide to get up on the left side of the bed? And yes, I realize the article was likely referring to the Supreme Court …

Visitin’ Baptist Temple

After a brief email conversation with Pastor Collins, I visited Connersville Baptist Temple. More than anything else, it wasn’t what I was used to. And yet, I loved it, and I hope that my enthusiasm remains after visiting a few more times.  Error happened.

Bring It On

I remember a conversation with a friend a few months ago. The subject was that of spiritual warfare, against the powers, principalities, rulers of the darkness of this world… And we each held two quite different viewpoints.  Error happened.

Animals, Souls — A Note to Myself

Looks like its time for another journey through the “animals have feelings because they have a spirit, not because they have a soul (which they lack)” lands again… It is an incredibly easy area of theology to grasp, yet highly intelligent athiests, well-meaning Christians, and most other people just seem to mess it up regularly… Hopefully I can …

Logo Launches

Cable television becomes a little less safe for family values as MTV Networks launches a network celebrating the debauchery of homosexuality. There was already so much objectionable content on cable television as it is, does the world really need Logo?
